digital photography courses

It's my first venture into this forum so please forgive me if I'm asking something that's been covered a million times ..

Almost 30 years ago I left school intent on a career in film and tv, but managed to spend 25 years working on cars. I've now semi-retired, left dirty days behind and am looking for something to occupy my time and want to get back into "picture taking".

Now, technology has left me behind so I'm looking for a part time (possibly evening) course to get me introduced to digital photography and the basics of what we used to call post-production, but it's probably got a new wacky name these days

I'm in derbyshire but don't mind travelling ( I have a LOT of free time on my hands these days) .. I've seen a nice looking evening course at Harrogate College which starts in January, but does anyone have any ideas or experience of any courses around sheffield or derby?

Not a night course, but I did the first level DSLR day course with Going Digital a few months ago. I found it extremely useful to pick up the basics of what the camera is capable of and how to get beyond the automatic settings. My understanding and ability is much improved and I feel the £70 was worth it. I didn't want to commit to a nightclass as wasn't sure I'd like the format.

I plan to do the second course once I feel I've practiced what I've learnt so far.

Not a million miles from you and although not part-time, one of their courses may suit you. I did a advanced(?) landscape one a couple of years ago which was good - 2 days of photography followed by 1 day of 'post production'
