Good, reasonably priced wheel for GT5.

I'm getting a PS3 for christmas (not just for GT5, i've had enough of the cackbox360) But will be getting GT5 also, and wondering, are there any wheels out there compatible with it, including clutch pedal (manual gears) and force feedback etc etc that are reputable and cheaper than logitech g25/27's

Agreed. I looked into the G27 for the purpose of playing GT5 and decided that I probably would not play it enough to warrant the initial outlay. Bought a Driving Force GT instead, seems to be on offer at Argos every so often. Works well, you can have the gears on the paddle stick shift or the paddles behind the wheel. I've opted for using the stick for easy access to reverse and the handbrake.

Problem is over the last week they have all seemed to disappear. Nowhere within 40 miles of me has one (I bought the last one yesterday).
Game is doing it for the same price, again out of the 3 stores in the local city centre none had them. A local gamestation had it for £100, HMV had one for £120. I guess you could try a price match ?
Don't but non supported wheels - controls such as throttle and brake will not be progressive, just on/off

gearstick on the GT is sequential, but there are also microswitches on the back side of the wheel.
The game has a list of wheels it will recognise and will work properly - progressive controls etc.
Far as I can tell unsupported wheels are effectively mapped as a regular controller, so brake and throttle are all or nothing.
The DFGT is a supported wheel (given its the "official" wheel). Other logitech ones are supported but currently the G25/G27 are not fully supported and have glicthes (drops into neutral on gearchange for example), they are meant to be fixing this.

I popped into a large Currys yesterday and they had the Logitech DFGT for £80. Think PC world may have had them too. Currys didnt have any bloody PS3/GT5 combos in my local one, but helpfully advised that 2 stores over 20 miles away have them. A store reserve search on their website does not agree...
