maserati 3200gt,,....difference?
Discussion
Paul, I have one, so here it goes:
1. 15 spoke titanium alloy wheels
2. Pagid race pads
3. Different brake hoses
4. Assetto Corsa kick plates
5. A choice of only 3 colours - red, black or silver
6. Black leather interior with red piping
7. Lowered ride height (and hence centre of gravity) to improve handling
8. "Sport" damping as standard
9. Nice commemorative plate on front of glovebox
10. Carbonfibre surround on dash, as standard
No power upgrade. No weight differential. The ride height supposedly improves dynamic handling, but having not owned a standard 3200, I can't really comment. It is rumoured that the AC is only marginally slower around the Fiorano test track than a 355.....whether there is any truth in that rumour is something else....
I've probably missed something, but this list is based on my recollection from the blurb I got when I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago.
IMO, the AC version makes the car look meaner and, in some ways, a little more together - the gaps in the wheel arches on a standard 3200 now always seem a bit too conspicuous, whereas they didn't before the AC came out...
