Female comedienne is an oxymoron.

She was a typical unintelligible product of the education system. Tired old cliches, constant reference to "I'm left-wing", which translates as "I'm not funny, I'm seriously ugly, but I'll do 5 years on the stand-up circuit going nowhere fast, then try to get a break being all serious on Comic Relief and from then on be viewed as uber-intelligent".

The only flaw in her argument is she is clearly as thick as pig st, even on a prepared VT, she still repeated "you know" umpteen times.

Even Andrew Neil felt sorry for her and avoided asking any questions, or engaging her in the debate. Michael Portillo was just laughing at her naivety "Tax the rich, tax the rich".

God help us.

A Typical brain washed leftie with little or no real life experience totally devoid of thinking a little more deeply about the serious financial issues causing these policy changes.

Also who the hell let Jaquie Smith onto the programme? Has the electorate not rejected her, judging by her corrupt failed political reputation why is she on this programme? When she stated 'the nice thing about being in opposition is that it is not our problem' Unbelievable. Yet the soap dodgers smash up tory HQ!!

Having missed the very start of This Week, and never having heard of here before, I had no idea whatsoever that this person was supposed to be a comedienne. I thought she was simply a student protester and was baffled how they'd picked her to appear.

Jesus H Christ living in Halls, the woman was a total parody of right-on studocrap, without even the faintest modicum of humour to help wash down her wooly-minded drivel.

"TAX THE RICH!" They are you dumb as dogst bh, by making them pay back their student loans! Pathetic!

"I'm paying off my £16k debts from my degree"

You're a comedienne, why the f**k do you need a degree? Maybe if it had been liable to cost you £9k a year in fees you might have thought harder before expecting the rest of us to pay for an education you so obviously didn't need.

She was bloody awful.

Andrew Neil doing the high pitched "don't worry George" was funny though.

It reminded me of when the guy from the X Factor was on Question Time. Completely out of their depth.

I was just about to wade in to defend her when I realised you didn't mean Josie Lawrence.

As you were.

The only open Tory comedian I can think of is Jim Davidson.

About 15 years ago, we used to go to a comedy circuit, Big Fish, which did south west London and maybe into Surrey a bit. So we met all sorts of people, and knew the compere quite well as well.

The early acts were the awful ones, and we always used to ask (privately) how they ever got on the circuit. The reason were varied from people who thought they were funny, people who knew they were funny and were building material, people sleeping with other comedians, and people sleeping with the organisers.

I can only imagine she was sleeping with God she's that awful.

(And as for getting on tv, she obviously slept with a drunk producer and threatened to tell the world. If I woke up with that moose and beat it out of bed with a stick.)

That article is from 1998! Even some of my own family voted labour in 97 (i was too young at the time to vote) then promptly regretted it as Gordon decided he had better uses for their pensions than they did.

Also having a few unfunny ones probably makes you appeciate the funny ones more.

But seriously, this girls routine seems to be that of Pee-Wee Herman; Shout a lot, talk inane st a lot and go fiddle some kiddies afterwards.

If she was on CBeebies i guess she might fit in.
