I first used this stuff years ago when I had motorbikes. I used to give them a good spray all over which seemed to keep the corrosion at bay. I likeed the way is tended to creep into all the nooks and crannies and stop the bolts and fasteners corroding

I have also been using on my cars for years and as I was preparing my old Honda for sale recently it struck me just how well this stuff stops any corrosion and keeps the engine bay looking nice. There are some pictures below of various engine bays, the photos have usually been taken when I am going to sell the car at which point I have usually cleaned the engine bay with Jizzer and given it a hose off. They come up like new if they have been previously and periodically treated.

When ever I buy a car I always give the engine a good clean and then a liberal spray of ACF-50. It seems to work really well to stop alloy corroding. Its used to protect Alloy in the Aircraft industry but it seems to work well on any surface. The Honda was fairly new when we had it, its now done 148,000 mile! The Citroen was the daughters car and had done over 100K when sold.

Anyone else use this stuff?

Cool, do you spray it on everything?

Yep, I spray everything, just taking care around cam and fan belts and such. It does not seem to bother paint or plastic, but I keep it off the bodywork.

Available on Ebay if you want some.

I had my bike treated with it recently, if I can keep it looking showroom fresh for a few years I'll be happy.

I was looking for some of this stuff.
So clean, then ACF, or do you spray, scrub and spray again?

I normally give the engine a good clean with Jizzer, hose it off and let it dry a couple of days, and then give it a really good spray with ACF-50. Then when I service the car I give it another spray. I don't normally bother cleaning it again until I sell it!

Ive used this on bikes and last year sprayed the underside/chassis of my Griffith, its a spray and leave it application and lasts for upto 12 months depending on use,the idea is to spray before winter to prevent corrosion happening, and the wash off in the spring to reveal a lovely shiny surface still and not all furred up ... works very well, its not a cleaner its preventive maintenance.

It's very good stuff but it's also very expensive. I've taken to regularly spraying the underside of my car with oil.

ACF is obviously more clingy and makes claims about having special anticorrosion properties. I'm not totally convinced. scratchchin

Okay so I Googled Jizzer and according to the Urban Dictionary...

1) "a penis, a male reproductive organr responsible for the act of jizzing."

2) "What happens when a girl gets excited"

So what you're telling us is, that you piss on your engine before applying ACF-50? biggrin

I have used it on motorcycles for years, still could not keep corrosion at bay on my Kawasaki Versys (that's a cheap frame for you)

Now this takes me back a few years. We use to put some in our bike petrol tanks.

I need to get me some ACF 50.

If it can keep your engine bay looking that fresh, it's got to be worth a punt.
