After seeing Connery appear in the actors who can't act thread, it reminded me of the film "The Hill", one of my favourite war films, and one in which he stars.

This may change your mind about his acting skills.

I suspect many of you haven't seen it, which is a shame as it's a superb bit of film making.

Have a watch and tell me what you think.

One of my Hall Of Fame films, that one. Great acting and fantastic cinematography, that really brings out the gallows humour and oppressiveness of the subject.

Connery is good, but there are other excellent performances too.

Super film, another one of the classics although always appears to be shown very late whenever it's on.

Ditto - both excellent films and performances imho and both very dark and unsettling. I was amazed that films like 'The Hill' were even made back then when I first saw it. Some scenes from 'The Offence' are still etched in my mind 20+ years after seeing it!

Well worth catching for those who've missed them.
