Toe question - does this look broken?
Discussion
All may not be lost on the holiday front, as the cure for a broken toe is normally to strap it to one of the others. (I think, not happened to me though.)
Howver you should probably pop to A&E to make sure it sets straight. (Plus your boots will need a hole cutting in the side to let your pinky stick out at that angle...)
In summary:
Hope it stops hurting, get it checked, don't cancel the holiday just yet.

I broke a toe playing football - and it didn't look anywhere near as f
ked up as that does!
I took it to A&E as my toe and top of my foot swelled up and bruised, they took one look said, yup broken your toe, don't play football for a bit and take it easy for a few weeks and you'll be fine.
But mine was at least pointing in the right direction!

Broken or dislocated.
I broke my middle toe on Friday so I am something of an expert. Mine had the same odd angle, but try as I might I couldn't pop it back in. Same symptoms as yours, not excruciatingly painful etc. I reluctantly trudged to A&E, where an X ray showed a displaced fracture. I'm due some surgery to pin / wire it together as the broken bits are hardly in contact.
Good luck with yours.

It had 'gone back in', and looks vaguely normal if rather swollen.
A & E didn't want to x-ray it on the basis that the management would be the same if it were broken or not. I've just strapped it to the next one and hope it stops hurting soon.
Thank heavens for Uggly boots - the only thing I can get on that foot. Oh, and the painkilling effects of red wine.
