Leather Retrimmers in Hertfordshire

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with either;

A&R Pound in Baldock, Hertforshire

OR

AJ's Trimming in Bourne End, Bucks.

I am interested in having my seats retrimmed.

If you have other suggestions for trimmers near Hertfordshire/North London that would also be great.

Finally, I am considering switching the existing S seats for either Griffith or Chimera seats if I can find some second hand. What do people think and is this a relatively straightforward process ?

Its dead easy. Four bolts per seat. The S seats just use the runners, Griff & Chim seat have a bolted on packer to tilt the seat at the front which you might need to remove.

When you re-fit the seats into your S, don't forget new nylok nuts (if not new bolts) and new penny washers. The penny washers are an absolute - spend the time getting them into position.

About an hour to change both seats over.

A friend on mine used AJ Trimming for his GT40 seats we both thought they made a very good job.

Not the clearest picture but rather than just big washers I made up some brackets that run from front to back bolt to help spread any loads and forces exerted on mountings.



On the choice of seats I'd have to say I find the S seats offer better support than my Chimaera ones, any "spirited" cornering has to be done one handed and the other used to wedge myself against door or centre console !

My car's still not back from the bodyshop ! Probably my fault as I did say 'no rush' !

I've used a&r pound for my old v8s, anyone that saw my car will tell you try did a good job. Plenty of photos on this forum of my old girl, there is also one of the interior on my profile, so take a look.
