Looking at getting some of these for my car. Just wondering how they perform and if there as good as i've heard.

Had them on my 147GTA (225/40/18). Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. Horrific tyre flex.

Its a commonly reported issue, but in some cases it seems to be size & car specific, so Google it first.

I put them on the rear of my Libra and after a few miles of slight uncertainty they have settled down and feel much like my old F1s.

Had two sets of them, cant fault them at all, impressive grip for the price. As MattyB said, they have rather soft sidewalls, and seem to be poor on heavier cars.

They are a bargain in some sizes - in 195/50/15 they are less than £30!

Well they will be going on my 1.2 clio with 195/50/15 wheels on it so they should hopefully be alright then.

I have them on my mx5 and BMW 540i Touring and think they are wonderful especially for the price! Will be trying them on a Honda Civic too soon.
Much better than the Hankook ditchfinders on the MX5 and Dunlops on the BMW.

For heavy cars.... Nooooo!

For light cars... Yes!

Had a set of my old Wira and they were great, brilliant for a Clio and ridiculously cheap.

Well regarded tyre for MX-5's and small hatch back etc.

Much much better than the Falken FK452 which gets good reviews online and is ste IMHO.

Had them on my 172 cup. Fantastic in all weather and gave me brilliant confidence at speed (where safe of course).

ETA: Have I should say because they are still on there! I just don't drive the car anymore as it's off the road until the summer frown

Same on my current model Lancer. Shame, as they're the only tyre that was available in the odd OE fit (215-45-18). Car was brilliant on the OE Yokohama A10A, undriveable on the Toyoyoyoyos.

Terrific tyre IMHO and as close to the Goodyear Eagle F1's as you can get for £30 less.

Even in the recent frost they were very good, probably due to the soft compound. My car only weighs 1000kg's though so the sidewall thing really isn't an issue.

Tyre wear is also poor but again, in a light car they will do 12-15k

Thing is you can't get the F1 GSD3's anymore which IMO are slightly better than the Toyo's. I've just put a pair of Falken directionals on, see how they go. To be honest they are all fairly good tyres and all perform slightly differently on different cars. Much, much better than any Tingtonglinglangramalamadingdong for £20 a corner of yer brothers mate Dave......

Fitted them to my Elise and I wasn't pleased at all, felt like I'd lost a lot of steering feel.

Only lasted 8000 miles too, replaced them with Kumho KU-31's that were not only cheaper but brought back the feel from the front end.
I will give them their dues though, they were good in the wet.

For a small engined Clio it won't make much difference and they will be fine, a reasonable budget tyre.

If you want a good tyre for a sporty car don't buy these toyos they are not much good, soft sidewalls, very poor in the wet when pushed hard, have had the misfortune of using them on the following cars

Integra type r
Impreza rb5
205 1.9 track car
Saxo vts

they are cheap for a reason, they are not very good and I would never buy them for one of my cars.

That's interesting although I can see where you're coming from.

As the Elise is much lighter I'd have thought the usual problems wouldn't apply but am guessing the Elise is just too sensitive so amplifies the flexible nature of the tyre.

In truth the Toyo's aren't as good for feel as the stock Bridgestone RE40's (on the MR2) but given the driving I do I'd rather trade a bit of feel for wet weather grip (where the Toyo's really excel).

Ive had them only my last 2 Focai and for the money they give great grip in the wet and dry! The only thing is they are a bit soft in the sidewall and in compound , especially when in the Alps going round repeated hairpins angel

Pretty much the default tyre for MX5s, their flexy sidewalls not so much of a problem on a lightweight car. Not good on track - tread melts after a lap or three, if that's any consideration.

Got them on my Fiesta ST having swapped them for Pirrelli P-Zero Nero's. Much better tyre on that car than the p-zero and very very well regarded around the ST circuit.
