Flat Battery

For the first time in TVR ownership(5 Cars) i have a flat battery.for the life of me i can't remember when i last replaced the battery.The garage is heated but this coincided with a cold snap when i was away,ie no heating on.
Knackered battery or just a push start and a twenty minute drive and then on the accumate which i have never used ?

Just accumate it straight away. Mine ran flat a few weeks ago when I left the lights on in the drive. Ended up pushing it back into the garage and trickle charging it for 2 or 3 days. It's now fine.

I have heard that bump starting might not be a great idea with these cars. Don't know why but I went down the accumate route anyway and all is well.

Alternater will knacker it(over charge it) 20mins

accumate will recondition it. Will take 2-3 days.

Unless an alternator is faulty it will not overcharge a battery, that is why they have a regulator built in.

I've tried to bump my Chim before now with no joy. The rear wheels locked up and the engine did not turn over!

True, but 14+vdc at 10s of amps isn't good for the plates of a very low battery. No?

i had a flat battery on my cerb last nite got a ew mates to shove me down road and bumped it and off i went it went flat as i was playing with windows and poppers without it running silly me

Played golf the other Saturday and took the Griff for a spin !!!!
Parked up and off i went.
Came back to car five hours later and it wouldnt unlock
Battery was totally flat (left the radio on)

Tried to jump start, but couldnt find battery.
Finally called AA out and everything was sorted.

So basically im no mechanic and crap at golf, but the at least the Griff always puts a smile on my face (when i dont leave the radio on)

2-3 days and the green light should appear.

I've just done the same to my blue Cerbera - cold snap zapped it. I haven't been quite so lucky though, in that I've had it plugged into an Accumate since last Tuesday morning and although it showed the trickle charge light for the first few days, it now shows nothing - other than it's 'on' light

Added to which I think it thinks it's locked now as well

had a peep just now and bingo,the accumate says the battery is fully chargered !
