I received an e-mail from The Monaco Auto Club last night to say that the tickets for next years Monaco F1 GP are now released:
http://www.formula1monaco.com/
Its a cool website that allows you to pick the exact seats you want and pay online, you can pick the same seats for the weekend or sit in different places for qualy and the race.
Unfortunately next years dates clash with my Wedding Annivesary so I won't be going but I can highly recommend it. At Monaco you get closer to the cars than you would actually wish and the atmosphere is electric - undoubtedly the best weekend of the year and something every PHer should do at least once.
Here are some wee pics from the Brawn year:
This is the view on the way to the toilet by the swimming pool.

The view from my seat at Saint Devote.

Convenient for Red Bull parking.

Recovery service Monaco style

Helping put the cars to bed before a beer or two

All in all not a cheap weekend but worth every penny.

Main grandstands opposite the swimming pool are good and you get a big screen.
Saint Devote is good for crashes (see above)
Start finish straight is frankly too close for a 90 minute race.
Casino square and around the tunnel are also good for close up action.
All are priced according to quality of view and access to screen.

I did qualy at the swimming pool and the race at Saint Devote which worked out great.
Best thing is that track and pits are open about 30 mins after the race so you can just wander about or walk or drive the track!!

If you dont buy tickets you can still watch from the Palace wall above the Rasse Casse but you need to get up early to grab a spot.

Thanks for the heads up Baz. I was there 2 years ago thanks to a surprise 30th. wink birthday present from my good lady wife. It was fantastic. If we went again we would get the radio's with ear plugs so that we could hear the commentary, without them, unsurprisingly, you cant hear a fking thing for those brilliant cars.

Perhaps a Scottish PH drive to the 2012 F1? As you say its not cheap but it would be some trip.

Sounds like a plan! 2011 instead of 2012?

2012 would be cool for me. Where do I pay my deposit? All that way in a 928 sounds great, F1 all weekend, then a drive home. If I start asking just now, I should be allowed out!

If there's talk of a group trip down in 2012 then I'll probably be up for waiting until then rather than go 2 consecutive years.

Besides hopefully by then I'll have a car which means I can combine it with doing the Ferrari factory tour!

You need to start a thread called that and keep it going 'till we all go.

Barry, I'm sure we could stick someone on the train to race!!
