SD class 10 vs class 6

Picking up a D90 next week and having trouble sourcing Class 10 SD cards.
Other than video would there be any downside to settling for Class 6?
Other option is to buy it with the camera (will be in Singapore then as opposed to Dubai), have heard stories that the money I will save there on the camera and lens I will lose on accessories such as bag and cards.

My D40 is 6 MP, and throws out ~10MB RAWS - i'd imagine for the 12.3 MP D90 your looking at double that.
If your memory card does 6 MB/s write (Class 6), it could take you up to 3.3 seconds before you can take the next shot. On a Class 10 that could drop to 2 seconds. Depends how important quick photography is to you?
Not quite as simple as this in the real world (cameras has small buffers to avoid this), but thats the basic attraction of a faster card.
Whats the price difference? I tend to get the fastest reasonably priced memory card I can afford - my Dad tends to go for the cheapest possible. He always complain his cameras are "slow" and sluggish to use when he needs them, yet mine always seem so fast... it's all about the memory card.

Video normally places less demand on a card for write speeds compared to still image bursts.
So far as I can tell within the SD card 'Class' specs there is a lot of room for flexibility especially at the class 10 end (min write speed 10Mb/s) where the 'best' cards exceed the standard by some way. If money is no object go for something like a SanDisk Extreme (Used to be Extreme III and Extreme IV) but now the higher end is just called Extreme although the specs have changed (upwards) once or twice. You can get a somewhat faster version iirc but I don't think you get twice the performance for twice the price.
There are plenty of other, often cheaper, options but as a starting reference point SanDisk is a good bet.

Just picked one of these up for a Canon 550d, had a good look at reviews and they seem to perform well. Class 10 16Gb £17.79.

I use a D90 with 16gb Sandisk Ultra II 15mb/s class 4. The only time it shows its limitations is when set to continuous low shutter release (about 3fps) and after about 8 or 10 expoosures the buffer is full and shooting rate slows. It is a pain when it happens but in the two years Ive had the D90 its only happened on 2 or 3 occasions. Also keep in mind I have the camera set to RAW + Large fine jpeg so the card is recording large amounts of data at that rate.
