At first glance Dale, given the colour of the bodywork in that pic, I thought you'd decided to fit a more reliable lump in the Tam whistle

Nice! Some people are very gifted with spanners! Would love to own one that had already been converted.

Contacted Boost - they don't do the flanges anymore and I dont want their block hugger (personal preference - I want a tubular type)

I'm looking at other manifold makers - does anyone else with a 24v need one as multiple purchase would be cheaper

I may be interested in these.. are you going for same length primaries..?

Although I am very tempted to go block hugger in case I want to add a T3 or two later... smile

Also you don't happen to have a spare BOA loom do you..?

Oh and how did you get on converting the MT75 to hydraulic clutch..?

Cheers, I am so far behind now.

Damian S3 (wanna be 24v power..)

Not the same car but I know Sean Trickjohn has a cosworth conversion might be worth trying to contact him.
I haven't heard from him for some time, he posted a few good threads

Have a look a threads he started here and there's a few that are more recent if you select the more recent stuff (less days ago at the top of the list).

There are no gains to be had from tubuler unless you want to tune power to a specific rpm. They will cost an absolute fortune and you'll lose torque all over the place. A few guys on fordpower have looked into costings for tubuler headers but they're over 1k, more like £1500. The stock headers are pretty good if you can squeeze them in. I can provide the flanges but they cost on a one off basis.

I made a solid aluminium bracket which bolted onto the block in some existing M10 or M12 (?) threaded holes and brought the Vauxhall Cavalier altenator forward of the engine. With the Altenator turned through 180 degrees to line up with the crankshaft pullies, this works fine (and has done so for the last 4 years) and clears my tubular manifolds which cost £500-00 by a local expert (I supplied the flanges which I had laser cut). The engine produces a very healthy 247ft-lbs of torque which is very healthy. I will agree though that there would have to be an awful lot of trial and error before you could determine the optimum length of manifolds for these engines, and the gain would not be that significant, unless you are entering a race series. The power figure is a bit lower than expected at 224hp running with an Emerald ECU...Dave has seen these engines in standard form producing up to 240hp, but less torque, so its horses for courses.
I would attach a photo but I lost all my original photos when the computer crashed last year (bugger) and the car is currently in storage elsewhere while my super new garage is being built.
