Interesting picture of comet Hartley 2 from NASA's Deep Impact probe - sent back over the past few days

Certainly better than the fuzzy blob I managed to see. Any idea how close the probe got?

It is an American mission so "miles" is appropriate.

I was reading an article in the Metro newspaper where they interviewed a pensioner who said "he cycled 48k every day".
Bs! I bet he said he cycled 30 miles. Even a bloke as young as Eric or myself would never quote kilometers, so no chance of an OAP saying it.

I don't know what their agenda is, but that particular paper is definitely trying to convert us to the Metric system.

Been following progress on this and am really pleased to see the pictures. It's an interesting shape this comet (and it's spewing out cyanide gas, lovely).
