The age old dilemma of whether the owner of a car helps add value to it has raised its head - and I don't know what to think.

Steven Gerrard's Overfinch Range Rover Sport is on the market - he buys one every year and always has it customised with his shirt number. And the car sells pretty much instantly every time.

I'm guessing it's because he's idolised by so many.

If I was well-off enough and looking for a well-looked after Range Rover Sport then I'd buy it over another similar priced model without the history.

Would you? A couple of years ago someone was trying to cash in on Colin McRae's death by selling his Radical for a shed load more than it was worth. That just seemed wrong though.

How much are they new? Seems tastefully done, unlike certain other footballers we can mention!!

Not me personally - I hate football and all it stands for, so somehow even using their castoffs seems wrong to me.

That being said if its done properly and hasnt got an inflated price due to someone famous owning it why not.

I'd want a discount for any vehicle coming from a football monkey. In fact any celebrity for that matter. Anyone who pays a premium needs to spend the money on self help books instead.

That 8 on the door looks wonkey to me..

Nice looking motor and quite subtle considering what it could have been.

Wouldnt pay a premium though, even if it was someone I was interested in.

I do know someone that bought Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidmans old uk based Brabus SLK from them though, paid a real premium if I recall.

Almost like it would tumble with just a little nudge.

Especially if it was near or in a penalty box?

I would do a +1321321321322094365903696 on the football monkey thing but I suspect I am only allowed +1

Probably why his wife went elsewhere - allegedly.

Torres M3 Dakar was up for sale several months ago and IIRC it went for 70K! They weren't even that new.

Apparently they pack quite a punch.
