http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calculators.htm

Just stumbled across this site, some good calculators for those needing quick answers to a few questions i.e. how much protein to consume.

This was an interesting one - http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calbs.htm - according to this calculator, with a wrist size of 7 inches, my biceps should be 16.38 inches frown. They are a smidge under 16 in truth, so i need to get curling smile

Have fun smile

Agree, i was just being silly smile

I tend to do 3 sets of curls for bi's after a back workout, and 4-6 sets of tri's after a chest w/o.

Problem with dipping is you have to use so much added weight - it starts to put added stress on the shoulders. Close-grip bench press or skulls are more comfortable i find

Anyone else run their figures through that out of curiosity?

6" Wrist,

Recommended/Actual

Chest 39/41
Waist 27/35
Hip 33/40.5
Bicep 14/13.5
Forearm 11/10.5
Thigh 20/25
Calves 13/15.5
Neck 14.5/14.5

Doesn't seem too bad, to me. Their waist/hip estimate seems low. That seems like it'd be skinny to me.

I'm not too sure about their 1RM calculator. I can do 10 x100kgs on bench and according to that I should be able to bench 130kg for one rep which I really dont think I can.

For my 7" wrist the figures all just about stack up.

Thing is, I haven't been to the gym or done any gym type workouts since April.
All I've done is the odd 5-6 mile hike every few weekends.

I guess these calculations only work for the private gym gimps, eh Pooey? wink

Well today I thought I would try bench first before squat and deadlift and see what I could do weight wise...

All of what I did was with a spotter...

warm up sets followed by;

120kg for 6 reps
130kg for 4 reps
140kg for 3 reps (last rep slightly assisted)

That is 6 plates which I am bloody chuffed with to say the least! I did not think I would get anywhere near that! I only weigh 70kg!

The 20 rep squat followed by 20 rep deadlifting routine which I harp on about in nearly every health and fitness thread is really working!

That's pretty good how tall are you? I'm 70kg and struggle doing 6 reps at 80kg
