Credit Agency Systems Down

I've applied for a loan today at a high-street bank. We got so far through the process and then they told me that the credit reference agency systems are down and there's quite a backlog.

I need the money quickly. Are they telling the truth?

Cheers Cobolman. The loan is with HSBC. I've still not heard from them, so I've half a mind to call them and cancel it, and try and get it through another bank.

Well, I gave up waiting and called them. It's been approved
