Just come back from there having had the eight course tasting menu + flight of wine £100 - superb!

Make sure you are hungry before going - this takes 3 hours and you will be stuffed!

Course 1
Watercress Veloute, Tikka Frog's leg, Quail's egg
Served with chilled dry white port

Course 2
Beef Smoked Suffolk Fillet, Redpoll Tongue, Horseradish
Served with chilled Ollorosso Sherry

Course 3
Wild Mushrrom & Truffle Gnocchi
Served with Cortese Amonte Cantine Volpi Piemonte

Course 4
Soused Mackerel, Fennel, Beetroot
Served with Vouvray Cuvée de Silex Domaine des Aubuisieres

Course 5
Pork Nedging ‘Head to Toe’ - Head cannelloni, crispy ears, shoulder, fillet and trotter
Served with Tempranillo Pricipe De Viana

Course 6
Blue Cheese Fondant and Toast
Served with Tawny Port

Course 7
Lemon Tart, Lime Posset, Orange Sorbet
Served with De Bortoli 5 Botrytis Semillon

Course 8
Chocolate Fondant, Cherries, Hazelnut
Elysium Black Muscat Andrew Quady

Courses 4 and 7 were the highlight for me.

Looks good, but I dunno about 'stuffed', I'd be just getting warmed up after the chcolate fondant!

I'm sure it was lovely but those first two courses look overly poncey and like they are trying too hard.

It does look good but I'm not sure 'Michele' would approve of some of the presentation.

What was the frog's leg like?

'I'm sorry sir, we've run out of plates. You'll have to have it in a mixing bowl'

Very delicate flavour and a texture almost like scallops - the veloute was the star of that dish.

Sounds great. I bet they'd been in a water bath.

I would imagine so, it's generally how frogs like to live. wink
