radiator recore

Finally got around to taking my raditor to a small specialist refurb company and left it there for them to give me a quote.
Spoke to them today and they have quoted £225 plus the dreaded.
That's much more than I envisaged. He told me the cost of the cores have shot up this year! can that be right? or is it because he recognised it as a TVR (he said ah sherpa with extra core TVR).
Anybody had their's done recently?
Oh and Alvis on here last year said tell them to use a G&M core ref. C1547B 3 row and that will come with sides. This company told me that they have included for that core but the sides will be refurbished?

Yes I used those guys last year.
Very helpful.

At first they sent me a rad ( probably the one in the pic) but it didn't quite fit ~ it's for an S3 whilst mine's an S2. There were very slight differences re fixing for fan etc. In the end I sent it back along with my old rad which they then recored.

I suggest you give them a call 01205 369555 and arrange for your old rad to be picked up first.

You may get a discount outside of ebay.

Have you8 thought about an alloy rad? Quite expensive but well worth it, the engine will run cooler and they look great.
