Is this how the country thinks...?
Discussion
Just had a quick look at the BBC news webpage and there is an article there gauging reactions from around the country over the cuts that were announced yesterday. Reading through the comments from different parts of the country, I noticed a similar vein in which the unemployed feel particularly hard done by. I got thinking that a certain type of people have been asked – the career workshy. None of the below really surprised me, but it did get my urine bubbling.
Tim Iredale of Grimsby said:
Events in the House of Commons wouldn't normally be required viewing in the Corporation Arms in Grimsby. But Wednesday was an exception, as lunchtime drinkers watched the chancellor's big speech in the pub, which lies in one the most deprived parts of the town.
In Grimsby, the number of people reliant on state benefits is higher than the national average, as is unemployment. Of the people who do work, many are on low wages.
A pub regular called Amanda said: "Don't cut the benefits for the people who are really, really struggling. I don't think it's fair - we are struggling enough as it is.
"I live on £174 a fortnight and it's not fair."
The challenge for local council leaders is how to continue delivering the services many have come to rely on - for less.
The chief executive of North East Lincolnshire Council has suggested that people in Grimsby may choose to sweep their own streets in future, so the local authority can prioritise front-line services.
Tony Hunter told BBC Look North communities need to be "more imaginative" when cutting costs, and asking for volunteers to do council work may be one answer.
So could this broad-brush approach be a taster of things to come in our town halls?
Well Amanda, let these cuts be the biggest reality check this side of a sharp boot up your fat arse. Do these ignorant people not realise how disrespectful it is to taxpayers, for them to say how hard it will be while sat drinking in the pub at the lunchtime while people like me are sat at work filling the pot that pay their £174 per fortnight.
Times are hard, as poor old Amanda will tell you, and she may not be able to find a job (well you won’t in a pub luv) but to comment on cuts from the comfort of the Corporation Arms rubs salt in the wound. Maybe she will be one of the first to offer her free time to clean the streets to help councils concentrate on front line services. But then, somehow I think we are more likely to see fat pigs flying.
There is no helping some people. Is controlled genocide such a bad thing?

I don't know; see Germany ref. 1939-1945 for evidence of how it goes...
It is unbelievable though, they are too used to an easy life hence their armchair criticism of something that they believe they 'deserve'.
All this crap about front line services is scaremongering, why the f
k can't they just get rid of the thousands of new non-jobs that labour created, everything worked just as well/badly without them? And that includes all the managers and bean counters in the NHS which apparently won't be affected.

king pub, would you?
Do you think those who will be freezing their arse off sleeping in a shop doorway have money to sit in the pub?
f
king hell and when she's finished getting bladdered in the pub she'll make her way home, stopping at the local Premier shop to buy a couple of cans and some fags before going home to watch Sky TV on her 42" plasma and moaning on Facebook about the nasty government.

If she is struggling to get by then she wouldn't be a regular in the pub, just google street map that pub and surrounding area such as Freeman Street, total s
t hole.
Yep, I know. The reason this makes my piss boil so much is I was raised not 5 miles from that toilet. It's funny how the decline of the fishing industry managed to turn the majority of the people in that area into workshy, skyving malingerers with nothing to do but f
t hole.
king moan how badly off they areNews last night had some spotty whale, moaning that her benefits would be cut, she would have to get work, result she WOULDNT BE ABLE TO SPEND MUCH TIME WITH THE KIDS.
Tough s
t love, firstly im amazed someone has even given you kids, secondly, do you thing our boys and girls away with the armed forces see their kids much, no.
Now crawl off and fester somewhere, you waste of f
king space.

. My mum is on the dole ( she had a breakdown last year and hasnt been able to get work) and she looks for a job all day everyday where as my little brothers mates all sit on the dole talking about how they can make it look like they were looking for a job. One guy in particular has said and i quote " why should i work? I have a child (10) to look after " looking after his child means getting drunk and smoking drugs all day.
