They're surely running out of ideas to keep the (dumb)public scared?

I'd rather put up with a cyber attack that a physical attack.

"Darlek" - is that a cross between Garlick and a Dalek?

There's peril out there, and we need to deal with it; best you stay indoors and make sure your tax bill's paid up like good little citizens. Keep calm and carry onswallow this alarmist bks.

Dont they know they can get free internet protection from AVG?

Someone should tell the government. They really shouldn't use the interweb without suitable protection.

I was listening to an item on radio four news. Apparently Estonia was brought to a standstill after a vigourous attack by cyber criminals. Banking , telephone network amongst some of the things attacked

The last I heard, the majority of important systems are isolated from the internet for that very reason.

Never understood why many of the systems were on the internet in the first place.

Apart from a DoS I'm not sure where any of this is going anyway, and frankly, I would have thought the vast majority of border routers can outrun a DDoS nowadays anyway.

I'm not sure I would. Cyber attack on the link/chip & pin system versus physical attack nowhere near where I live? Cake or death really.

Do people not get the potentially serious consequences of cyber wars?
The efforts of a few people over the last month systematically took downthe MPAA, rias, bpi and countless other companies, if a government took it seriously then they could cause some proper internal aggravation.

Ok the news is bigging it up but you only have to look at Iran/Israel and china to realise that there are countries already doing it and in israel's case they're doing it effectively (nit including the stuxnet theory as there's no sensible proof it was them)
