Help with IDVD for the web using a PC

Produced a three minute video using Apple's Imovie and then burnt the video on to a DVD using again Apple's IDVD.
Problem is ....... Passed the DVD onto someone using a PC who wants to put it on to his website and can't - can you help out? I am not familiar with PCs - more of an Apple man and as a rule generally don't get involved with websites either!

Here's his reply....... "Looks really good. Only one problem I want to upload it to my web and facebook page but I can't save it in a file due to the format its in!!

Any ideas?? I expect its due to it being done on your mac?

I can play it no problem but when I look at the files it’s all a bit random

If any body can help with a step by step guide - or guide us to a fool-proof link - I would be much obliged. Many thanks!
