Trying to make it frightened of people?, if somebody did this to me it would make me want to hurt them not be scared of them, no wonder it attacked people!.

Exactly. Just when you think that people can't get any more stupid, along comes one to prove you wrong.

WTF they killed the goat, why exactly, what part of WILD animals dont people get.

If you like to go into the wilderness and mix with wild animals in THEIR backyard and one does you over then tough imho.

Killing the goat was a massive over reaction imho!! frown
Agree. We had this when we were in Yosemite national Park about 15 years ago. They have a problem with Bears breaking into cars for food (they can smell things as innocuous as an empty mars bar wrapper and will break in for it). If they catch a repeat offender, then they transport it out of town and release it miles away. If it comes back, they shoot it. I found this very harsh as the bears are just being bears, we're in THEIR habitat by visiting there and are stupid enough to leave bear food for them yet they take the rap.

Very harsh IMHO

Unfortunately once a bear has tasted human food it's generally all it wants. (can't really blame it)

This will inevitably cause it to cross paths with humans again in the future, which could be dangerous.

It's the fault of the idiot's leaving food in their cars and they face heavy fines if caught.

But you can't stop people visiting the national parks and so bears will continue to be killed as there is really no other option.

Oh absolutely I understand what happens, when we were there the fines were draconian! Still think it's harsh as it's down to human behaviour that the situation arises the bears are just trying to survive. As the Goat was in the OP. It's the world we live in I suppose

My initial thought was "How the hell do you let yourself get killed by a flipping goat?".
Then I read it and realised that it probably cut his femoral artery and he likely didn't stand a chance.
Very unfortunate for the man, very lucky shot from the goat.

On a similar matter,

I was alone when I downed this elk in ND. I was using my camera’s timer attached to my shooting stick to give me enough time to get into the picture. I knew there were a lot of cats in the area but had no idea they would come in this close to people. He had to be within 10 feet of me and I didn’t even know it. I about crapped my pants when I looked at the pictures the next morning and saw he was there.

Actually, that is a good technique. Animals that lose their natural fear of people cause danger in that they see them as easy sources of food via garbage, etc. People feeding alligators here is a similar problem. By making them fear people, they will tend to shy away rather than attack. Example, an alligator, not accustomed to being feed like a zoo animal, will always elect to avoid humans.

^^^Fantastic shot and story. Now if that cat had had you, that would have been worth a headline. "Hunter hunted", "Cat got dinner back"?

Seriously, your locals feed the alligators? Damn, when I was a child we just used to feed ducks.
