Cheers,

this whole number plate thing is such a rip off in the UK , in Denmark Sweden and of course the good old us of a you can get what you want , in sweden it costs 5,000-SEK at 15 to the £ thats £333- for what you want up to six letters or numbers in Denmark its up to 9 i think ,of your choice , its funny not many people bother with it.

A very rich one ,,, but it would make me laugh if his car was worth less than the plate

The guy who had A5 TON was on TV a couple of years ago on top gear or something....The funny thing was he didn't have an Aston at the time he had the plate on a Jag if I can remeber correctly.

May I am just getting confused.....Time for my pills.

It has been on Top Gear since on an Aston. He reckoned he had paid £85,000 for it though. End of last year I think it was, but definitely on an Aston.

PEN 15 exists and is in use. Was on the telly once - bloke with his big red corvette type thing. Very post-modern ironic eh?

I've seen a Porsche 996 Turbo commuting into the City with 1 FX, which can't have been cheap. Bet I can guess what he does for a living

Was owned by Steve Parish and Derek Warwick at different times. Saw it on Steve Parishes Merc at Snetterton several years ago.

SKY 1 - used to see it on an old Pug 205 round Leatherhead but not recently. Murdoch and his merry men would presumably pay pretty much whatever asked.

Don't count on that .. when Kelvin McKenzie was the editor of the Sun, someone in the PR department bought SUN1 for his chauffeur driven car... Not known for his temperence, he went completely postal: "Are you f***ing stupid? I'm not having that on my car!!!"

Seemingly he wouldn't want the man in the street knowing who he was...

The plate has been on one of their Escort vans ever since.

Parked next to the Aston Martin, with the A5TON plate, outside a bar in France on the way to Le Man last year.
He had a mate with an Aston, with a AM (number) plate as well!
Think it was a VANTAGE

Someone bought N1GEL a while ago for £40k. Wanted to stick it on his Vauxhall Calibra worth less than a quarter of that but it was too old ... and he then couldn't afford a newer car cos he'd blown every penny on the plate!!!!!!!!

When I lived in Oz, Perth I could have registered "bollox" for about £150!

They ok'd it and I was going to go ahead but I got divorced instead...what an option.

An uncle of a friend of mine Had a GT40, reg no GT40 in the seventies, some of you may remember it from a Woolwich building society advert back then, at the time the car was worth 40k and the plate was worth 60k.
I was lucky enough to get a ride in it, and all the intelligent questions I had lined up came out as gobbledygook during the ride due to my cheshire cat grin..Fond Memories
