Major oil leak from gear box ??

Hi,

My girlfriends Jeep has just been into the body shop to have a new bumper fitted after a mad women hit it last week even after being warned not to drive any closer...any way they have said that there is a major oil leak from the Auto box. Has anyone got any ideas what this could be and how much it could cost to fix??
The car is booked into HR Owen next week for a service, should I start working overtime now, or just see the bank manager about re-mortgaging the house ?

Any ideas would be appriciated.

Have you seen oil on the floor? its probably a gasket/seal that has gone if so. Shouldnt cost too much depends how long it takes. Possibly 150 quid. Id get a few quotes first.

Sam, there's not too many gaskets on a sludgebox so you should be okay - probably something trivial like the sump gasket has sprung a leak.

Easy job if it's that - an hour underneath it should do the trick.
