A recipe I want to cook this evening has this ingredient

I couldn't find it at the local Morrisons. To be fair I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for.

Anyone know where I can get some from? Also it'd be good to know which section of the supermarket to look in. I'm guessing "world foods" or something?

I go up to one of the little people in green tabards and say 'Where's the xxx please?'

The thing I can never find in Morrisons is tonic water. Wherever it is, it's not logical.

Ask the staff, if they can't help, call in at corner shop.

It'll be in the Thai section next to normal tins of coconut milk.

I'd be surprised if they didn't have it.

Well I ended up just buying coconut milk. It'll do, hopefully.

The woman in tescos looked at me like I'd stabbed her husband or something when I asked for creamed coconut. I spent at least 20minutes looking around and couldn't find what I was looking for.

Tesco should have creamed coconut.
They also stock 2 types of coconut milk, which did you buy?

Patak's do it in convenient sachets. Widely available, even up here, along with the usual Oriental,Indian,Sharwoods,Blue Dragon products.
I find it better just to lob it in rather than make a stock of it.

The one I went to apparently didn't. I looked in all the non-frozen aisles.

Not sure which sort I got. It just says coconut milk on the tin. Cooking is all about experimenting so I'll just have to see how it goes! it's only a fish pie, with a 'carribean' twist to it, from Levi Root's book.

In which case try reducing the coconut milk in a saucepan on a low heat before you use it. I've a feeling it will be too runny otherwise.

Next time I go shopping I'll try to take a pic of creamed coconut.
As for the tinned milk, there should be 2 types, the branded stuff, and one aisle over, the tin at half the price, that's just as good!

Yeah I got some cheapo stuff for about 50p instead of the branded one for nearly £1!
