Insurance help

My 450d was subjected to a bit of a hit and my insurance (through John Lewis - bought with camera) have deemed it a write off.

I've just noticed that they don't sell the 450 any more but have the 550 and the 500.

I suppose I'll more likely receive the 500 but would it be worth up grading to the 550 if its not much extra?

I've not had a chance to look at either of them yet, and I'm not sure what John Lewis will offer, I just have a letter to take in to get the new camera. I only just noticed the 450 isn't for sale any more!

Can anyone offer any comments on the cameras?

The 550 looks a belter of a camera, fresh, good hd video feature and 18mp sensor for not a lot of money would make me buy one as a second body

It does look nice, but I doubt I'd really use the HD video... Although if its there then I will use it for silly stuff.

What I'm not sure on yet is what John Lewis will class as like for like. I'm guessing its the 500. If so then it will be around £100 to go to the 550, or that £100 could be used towards some glass.
