The article says that the QC was the one that got the Lockerbie bomber off.

I don't think I'd want her representing me either.

She even looks like bad blood.

"Will now represent himself"......

Isn't that the legal definition of someone that qualifies as "a person suffering mental retardation"?

He dismissed his legal team in the original trial against News International and went on to win. Mind you STV seem to imply it was the legal team that sacked him as a client rather than the other way round.

Still it looks like he's buggered this time!

I have a connection via a family member to someone who was at the Party meeting where Sheridan was confronted about the evidence of being at the swingers club.

The person attending was a Sheridan 'disciple', who pretty much worshipped the guy, let's just say that what they saw and heard was enough to convince them to want Sheridan chucked out of the Party.

I hope he enjoys his time in prison!

I too have been following this case.He comes across as a nasty, manipulative piece of work.I do hope he gets a little jail term (OK, a lot) if found guilty. The evidence does seem to be stacking up relentlessly against him.

Why? The Lockerbie Bomber in all probability was innocent.

A man who represents himself has an idiot for a client.

Are lawyers allowed to stop working for a client of their own choice? I always thought it was prejudicial to a case if your lawyer resigned.

(Not that this is the case).

Not unless they become professionally embarrassed (i.e. client admits he did it)

true, and I have no love for Sheridan whatsoever but he has been studying law for the past few years at Strathclyde Uni and has represented a few other folk iirc so he's not entirely clueless. I hope he gets sent down though.

Whadyamean? There was no evidence except for a fragment of the wrong timer found months after by an Amercian agent who subsequently lost his job for bloody evidence tampering! His co-defendent was let off as there was no case to answer.

The whole thing stank. Still does. The one single witness could only pick Megrahi out after he'd seen a picture, and got so many details wrong that it was a travesty. That coupled with him being paid to testify...

Oh, and there's this:

"Dr Hans Köchler, one of the UN observers at the trial, expressed serious doubts about the fairness of the proceedings and spoke of a "spectacular miscarriage of justice".

There's little doubt the Iranians were behind Lockerbie. That's where the money and revenge motive led.

Read the comprehensive report 'Lockerbie, Flight From Justice' by Paul Foot and then tell me if it's 'Chinny'. It can be downloaded free, or PM me and I'll fire it over.... You may be surprised.
