Changed the alternator over today and to my surprise I have double pulleys on crank, water pump and crankshaft. Only have the cat three years and it didnt register before. The single pulley is fine and everything works with the fan belt on the rear pulleys.

But is my car unuasual or do all/most have double pulleys

Mine has double on water pump and treble on crank.

I assumed that the Sierra / Granada applications had pas hence the crank pulley.

On my old 2.9 Granada, one pulley drove the viscous fan and PAS. Another very short belt drove the alternator (which was under the manifold on the Granada but doesn't fit there in the TVR). The third pulley was for a third separate belt to the air con compressor.

ETA did 194,000 miles in that - it never cooled down enough to be polished! Was still clean though - much easier to clean than stripping and painting perfectly working components!

Each to their own though!

i really like what youve done, but i suspect it was just a fluke.
Now the best way to prove me wrong is to do the same to my alternator, starter, crankcase, rocker covers, etc etc oh, and the chassis whilst you are at it.

That way we will all know you are 'Da Man' when it comes to the tarting up of Tivs and not just a one hit wonder...
