Discovery shed is listing wheeler dealers at 9pm tonight with the guide saying it's the Lotus Elan, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen that one?

The Discovery website is showing a new series starting on the 12th but lists it starting from ep 6 of the 10 in total which is the Elan according to the description.

Been looking forward to this - I know the programme involves a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, but it's good telly.

They must have a bigger budget for this season. Decent starting car and then a full respray not a couple of rattle cans of paint. Plus a trip out to Gurston for the 'after' shots.

They changed the manifold and exhaust for stainless items.

Fixed the non functioning pop up lights.

Replaced the front suspension ball joints.

Replaced the old driveshafts and rubber couplings for new CV jointed ones.

Repaired a few areas of cracking and hazing on the bodywork then sent it off for a re-paint. Wheels got re-painted too and new chromed wheel nuts.

The engine had already been re-bored to 1700cc and had a wilder cam in it.

Looked fantastic when it was all done.

Discovery Channel do know how to confuse, don't they? I had seen the trailers on Discovery Real Time and so was planning to record the Elan programme on Tuesday 12th, as shown on the Real Time schedule. The series is also on Discovery Shed on Thursdays! I don't think that they have ever shown a new series on both channels more or less at the same time before, have they? At least it gives more chances to catch them! Disc Shed is showing the Bond Bug next week.

I'd pay good money to see lanky old Edd Chinas try and fit into a Bond Bug. smile

New series starts on discovery real time tomorrow night at 9pm with the lotus elan. Looking at the above posts it's already been shown on discovery shed but I missed it then so thought I'd bump this back up incase anyone else missed it then too.

The clip I have seen on Real Time is them talking about a Bond Bug?

Discovery Real Time appears to have changed the running order rolleyes. The Bond Bug is now listed for tonight at 9pm, and is also listed on Discovery Shed on Thursday at 9pm. The Elan was previously listed as tonight on RT - hope to see it at some future date!

Just watched the one where they convert a VW van into a camper. Well, I say camper when really it was just a scabby old builder's van lined in plywood with plywood 'furniture' and of all things an astroturf carpet.

In the cost summary at the end the cockney thrush kept referring to a "vinyl rack" which had me flummoxed. I'd only seen the last five minutes but there was no sign of a rack. Roof rack? Storage rack? No. It had been vinyl wrapped. This was a new level of butchery of the language, even for him.

Can you use Sky's parental controls to block a programme?
