Refurbing suspension and steering

Just trying to generate a list of spares required to refurb the suspension and steering.

Steering is tendon popping stiff but eases dramatically when the UJ is greased so....

New UJ
Replacement bulkhead "bearing"?
Steering rack functions ok but needs new rubbers where the rack is clamped to the chassis, are these avaiable seperately?
2 x Track rod ends

Actually, does anyone do a full refub kit for steering / suspension et al?

Hi Dave

I got a poly suspension kit from TVR Carparts (Superflex) and was happy with it.

replace the ARB bushes at the same time.

theres some threads a while back for alternative drop links too - you can make your own up at little cost. this was mine at £27/pair



what shockers do you have ? if Koni's then pm me for more...

I looked for replacement rubbers on the steering rack for a while but got some good used ones in the end. I'm sure there should be some poly ones for Chevette's about but I could not see any...

I would say that it is worth replacing worn rubber bushes etc as the difference was very noticeable on mine.

Superflex www.superflex.co.uk/ used to provide new steering rack bushes for Vauxhall Chevette and the S rack centre section is Chevette so they would just the job
