Just came back from seeing this, thought it was pretty good until the end. (I tried searching for a thread, but came across nothing...)

The trading and finance parts were realistic-ish. Cameo by Jim Cramer (Mr Mad Money from CNBC) was brilliant, as was seeing Charlie Sheen as Bud Fox. BUT, the end, well just didn't make sense. "It's not about the money" she says. Righto. Still a worthwhile watch methinks.

So PH, what did you think?

I thought they might as well have been riding mopeds for their bike race. Pair of fannys.

Yes, that was one of many crappy parts in the fillum.
I thought it was rather disappointing. Far too much sentimental bks in there for my liking.

Prison certainly has changed GG. I wonder if he ever dropped the soap........

I thought it was very good. LaBoeuf In particular- he will no doubt have sparked a thread in the Watches forum before long. Thought Brolin was a good baddy.

Things I didn't like included that inane whistling the old guy kept doing (his name escapes me)

Well worth a watch.

The old guy - played by the legendary Eli Wallach (who I must admit, looks very close to kicking the bucket). But kudos to him for still walking at 95 yrs old, let alone acting! smile

Thought the film was rubbish though. Seriously, only worth a dvd rental if you're a fan of the first film.

I wasn't too sure about it to be honest. Found it a tad boring and thought it dragged on a little, if I didn't enjoy the whole stock trader scene then I could have seen us walking out.

'Money isn't everything' - yet as soon as he hands the £100 million back at the end everything is all fine and dandy? Hang on...

Saw this last night and I thought it was enjoyable certainly easier to follow than the first one.

The first film was great, but I wasn't too impressed by the sequel, mainly because of the two main characters i.e. Shia Le Beouf and his partner (in the film). I thought Le Beouf was far too ugly to play a Wall Street character and looked as if he should have been working as a car rental branch manager, not some sort of player in the city. I also hated his partner, the bird with the short hair. I don't remember a single scene where she wasn't looking miserable or crying her eyes out and I quickly got fed up with that.

Thought I would drag this thread back to life as I watched it on DVD lastnight.

Jesus, what a pile of steaming dog doo. The first Wall Street was an inconic movie and an incisive snapshot of 80's culture with fatnastic characters, soundtrack and so many memorable lines.

The new movie... well what can I say? Weak and flacid, generic plot and script, mixed up - what is it, a "Green" tree hugging movie? Revenge? Love? It couldn't decide what it wanted to say. And as for Charlie Sheen's cameo appearance, he was playing his two and a half men character. Oliver Stone should be ashamed of his work on this.
