Leaving the Caterham fold for a grown-up car, advice needed
Discussion
I have been looking on here for ages fo a nice T350 and this one appears today, anyone know it's history or have recommendations on TVR ownership.
Forced to leave the open top brigade due toheallth reasons, increased risk of melanoma, best excuse so far to swop the Caterham for a TVR.
Any comments welcomed,
Tom Ward

It might be useful to read up about the S6 engine (if you haven't already), however the known issues should have been fully sorted by the time this car was made.
Don't drop that one in without expanding - the search facility is down!!Issues with early Speed 6 engines due to poor components used. Lots have had/may require rebuilds, but "generally" issues were ironed out by 2003/4. Always the chance of getting a lemon though - age/mileage are just a guide as with any other high performance engine.
A car with only 5000 miles but no mechanical sympathy versus 30000 miles and well cared for - the former may be the one that goes bang!

Was that one finished elsewhere, or at the factory?
That has to have been finished in Bristol Avenue as the T350 had been discontinued when the closed in 2006 . Obviously in stock somewhere and registered after. Strong money but probably the latest reg on a a T350. Very nice car and I have to say I prefer the cleaner shape of the T350 to the Sagaris personally.Edited by V8 GRF on Thursday 7th October 08:27

If I was considering spending that kind of money, I would find some more and get a Sag!

Not everyone wants to spend an extra £10k plus to buy a Sag. Apart from the 4.0l engine and a wider rear track whats the gain? You would just end up spending even more opening up the front wing vents to eradicate the kitcar look. The difference in cost leaves more than enough for the engine rebuild/upgrade when the inevitable happens. BTW congrats tomward7 lovely car.
