S3 Exhaust downpipes

Well, started the body off chapter of the rebuild last night, quite encouraged by how far I got in three hours.
The n/s downpipe, from the manifold back to the long section looks like a badly sewn patchwork quilt and has a significant dent in it as well.
Any advice on where to get the cheapest stainless part from? I've checked race direct and they will do the pair for £85.
Only need one though, assuming I can get the other off without banjaxing it completely.
Glad to say that the chassis is in good nick from what I can see of it. For sure, the real test is when the body gets lifted.

Pretty certain i phoned TVR parts for a quote and was told it was for each down-pipe. (or they were not available)
But i am sure someone will make the `call` to find out.
Anyhow, racetech were very good. They quoted up to 2 weeks but they came within 5 days.

£40 the pair, just bought a brace from theose nice chaps at TVR Car Parts.

Low profile clamps at a fiver each plus the dreaded VAT makes 80 large.

That £40 a pair is specifically for non-catted cars, it seems. I have just discovered it's £108 for catted models, like my S4C. Ouch!! Is that what Mr Clifford bought from Racetech?

THat would seem like the simplest answer, but sadly, it's not as easy as that.

The cat and non-cat manifolds are a different length, and end in a different place in relation to the rest of the exhaust - so you can't just put non-cat pipes onto a cat manifold. You need to buy the cat downpipes AND separate de-cat pipes to de-cat it.

And you can't change to non-cat manifolds either - you would lose the lambda sensors, so you would need to instal air flow meters etc and (I think) reprogramme or replace the ECU.

I bought non cat. S2 . Think i may of simply been charged a lot (;-( !
