GTF Sagaris completes Silverstone 24hr !!!

I've had to change this until I can get confirmation from the guys, 389 laps with a FL of 2:02 indicates some trouble but they are indicated on the TSL sheets...but there's no classifications!!!
Hope it all worked out and they got it back out...MASSIVE undertaking...24hrs.

Right, managed to get hold of Fred and the car DID complete the 24...after a few minor issues. The first TVR to do this...and the only TVR to complete a 24 since the T400Rs at Le Mans.
The big time out was for a suspected gearbox (noisy) so they came in and changed it but on investigation the gearbox would have been OK for the duration; some minor stuff with electrics bought them in again wipers/demisters and an ECU, due to the fact that its a race car and it was p1ssing down for practically the whole race...but they've now had a chance to check everything over before loading up and everythings fine.
Fantastic job by all the guys.

Some good lap times and more importantly , a years worth of development on the car in one week end.

Sorry if you were asked to leave the TVR garage, the only time I know people weren't allowed in the garages was at pit lane walkabout as the silverstone people felt the floors were too slippery for the public. I did however 'escort' a few people round the car at the time.Was good to see the Tiv out there
Most of the time during the race there were lots of people in the garage and it was good to hear the cheers when we got it back on track especially late at night when we had to fit a new wiper motor on the car

I was there on Sunday only from 10am to the end. It was great to see the GTF car do so well and bring it home but my main support went to the Topcats team who had all three of their cars complete the 24hrs to cross the line in formation.
It's a massive effort for any team. The extremely tired faces was evidence of that several hours before the end but everyone looked much better once the cars had finished the race.
Well done guys. I was opposite the pits gone midnight thinking "these drivers have got balls to race in this" when out comes the safety car. Not what we want to see, but for the best really, as the different classes make it tricky racing even in good conditions. Fog followed in the early hours and more safety car action but a good show by all. Top marks for getting it back out of the garage and onto the track more than once. I was walking to the paddock cafe early Sunday morning, in the rain, and I did signal my despair to the driver when I saw the car being towed in 
this did make the wet and cold feel wetter and colder. But you got it back on the track again!

The weather conditions were unbelievable, the worst I think I've ever raced in over a prolonged period. As you've probably read, we didn't really have a useful windsreen wiper and our lights were a little dim to say the least! During one of the safety car periods in the fog, my visibility suddenly reduced to zero. The only way I got the car back to the pits to have the screen cleaned off was by trying to spot the flashing yellow lights at the various points on the circuit and carefully aim the car towards them - that 3 q'trs of a lap felt like an eternity. this did make the wet and cold feel wetter and colder. But you got it back on the track again! Well done and thank you.J
But what an experience. The car was incredible and the Team deserve huge accolades for being the first Team to ever bring a TVR home at the Britcar 24hr! Amazing.
