Hi

I a dithering on the GPS thingy...tempted by the GARMIN StreetPilot III.

I know some of you will have practical experience of GPS and the GARMIN StreetPilot III in particular (barry!)

Grateful for feeedback/advice on pros/cons of this unit for biking.

Thanks

Thanks Barry

That is indeed a most comprehensive review.

What mounting system do you use on yer bike (for the garman)?

Thanks

I used to use the RAM mount(still do on the blackbird), but I prefer the Touratech mounts for the tigers as they seem a bit more robust (but not as flexible in their mounting location)

Thanks Barry

Have looked at Tourachtech - they look very well enginered and almost like a piece of art. Nice price too.

Did the deed - the Garmin SPIII is on order and with a fair wind should be in my mitts tomorrow.

I bought one last week from Maplin, £550 with their discount code from their web page. I have the original streetpilot with a Touratech mount on the bike. I've so far only used the 111 in the car, it's great. It'll get me round Europe no problem. All I need to do now is get a Touratech mount for the 111. BTW you can get the discount codes from the internet and still go to a shop with that code number and get the discount.

Phone hands free head phones on under the lid, ring VOICEMAP. I do, much easier it is.

I am biased though.

See Virtual Sat NAv on the news pages of PH.

have a look at totalpda.com and have a look at the tomtom kit with a pda for £300 region
look simpressive, and you get a multi handy pda in the process..
