My sister and partner are moving to London next Thursday. They'll be staying in an apartment in Chelsea for the first couple of weeks.

I'm organising a bit of an arrival hamper kind of thing for them.

I've got some chocolates from Artisan, looking at a selection of cheeses from the Cheese Shed, some flowers etc but I'd really like to get a nice selection of pate/smoked salmon/cheese/wine kind of thing for them. A lot of the hampers I've seen are at the Thorntons chocolates end of the spectrum and that's not really suitable.

I've looked at fortnum and mason etc without much luck.

Does anyone have any advice for a nice selection of gourmet goodies? At the moment my fall back position is just some stuff from Ocado but I'd prefer a nicer, more gift like suggestion.

Cheers.

ETA I'm organising this from Sydney so need some local knowledge and direction.

The last time I ventured into the "Deep South", I was impressed with this shop.
No doubt there will be others on here who will be able to give you a more up to date assessment

I think when this topic last raised its head one idea that I liked was to buy a wicker hamper or basket and fill it with what you want

The OP is in Sydney so i doubt he wants to post a full hamper of food half way across the world or I would have suggested this as it ensures you get what you want in the hamper
