Photobox - quality control / dark prints ?

I've not printed via Photobox for several years -

Just received some prints and some have come out quite dark with lots of loss of detail into shadows...

Some look great.

The odd one looks a bit over saturated / indistinct / ste - difficult to pin down how to describe it but is only on pics that were in direct sunlight as far as i can see?


Anyone else had dark prints from Photobox?

Had a few issues, and they've always reprinted FOC

I moved away as it was a bit of a ballacje when I wanted to supply prints to someone and had to explain they were being reprinted. Guess if you can afford to wait then no probs

Had propblems twice, they reprinted FOC both times.

I too had a 'look' problem with some prints; they re-printed FOC and the second lot were fine.

But then another time, some prints came back strangely cropped
and their only response was that they admitted that they were having problems with
that particular print size, but they didn't know when it would be sorted!

Not had a problem, but I have a calibrated monitor and make sure it matches their test print

They don't make it easy to get that test print though, do they?!!

Um, they posted one to me within a couple of days of me emailing them for one. That was a couple of years ago so don't know whether it's more difficult now!

well I've emailed them and checked the pics against the prints on several different monitors, both at work and at home.

The are actually all darker - some far more than others.

If you are unhappy with the prints, just contact the customer service. They'll reprint free of charge unlike other companies where you'll have to send back the prints and wait for ages.
