Which new car is similar to your TVR?

I am doing some research for a possible new venture and need / value your opinions please:-

If an insurance company offered to give you a replacement car whilst your TVR was being repaired and the policy stated it would be an equivalent modern car (not more than 2 years old) to the one being repaired, what would you want / expect / like to be given:-

eg Cerb = Evora? Nissan gtr?

I have posted here as it is not a general business question but is TVR specific.

Had to have a loan car to replace the Chimaera when it was in for repair.

They offered me a Boxster or an Audi TT (was 4wd Turbo) I took the Audi, hated it then grew to enjoy it. Would have had the Porker but apparently it was red and red cars are illegal on my drive.

RAC gave me a C Class Merc to play with and said they where sorry they had nothing better at the time. Since I was doing a lot of trips down to London from Gods County I was more than happy.

There isn't much. Probably a Corvette or a kit car would be closest. But depends on what attributes you like/want a TVR for. I've not driven a 370z or a Z4 with the turbo engine in, but both are RWD small coupes/verts.

Truly a close alternative - something like a GKD Evolution with an M3 engine in I suspect or a Murtaya even.

I got given a Porsche Boxster and i know others that have too. Initially on the phone the girl was looking at cars with a 4.5l engine, 2 seats, sports car and started offering me a Ferrari! (unfortunately her supervisor stopped her!) So i got the Boxster.

I also know someone who got a Tuscan when his Chimaera was in an accident a few years ago.

Not an easy one to answer. I can think of things that might look a million dollars, but I'm struggling to think of anything as primitive in terms of driver aids/traction control/airbags and all that stuff.

I was given a BMW 630i when my Chimaera was in for repairs. It was the most dull car I have driven for a while. I was hoping for something like an M3 but they didn't have one.

However if I were to move to another car with a simular price tag as the Tuscan I would probably get an Exige (hides)
