Aston V8 Vantage - Shoot

Hi there, a couple of weeks back a friend wanted some pictures taken of his newly acquired Aston Martin and I was more than happy to oblige. Here are the results and I would really welcome any comments both good or bad and views on how to improve.

All were taken using a Canon 30d body and 24-105 F4 IS L lens.

I'd go back and retake a few of those in nicer light, flat grey cloudy skies do nothing for me

I'm just really glad I never specced those wheels!

ETA... as per other threads here - doing that with number plates is very distracting.

Bit harsh - Nothing that a bit of cropping and Lightroom/Photoshop couldn't sort out, or drop another sky in; nice shots, I think you could improve them with a shallower DOF and cropping. Agree with the comment about the numberplate,I would just leave blank or black it out to match the car.

I take it you got the moving head-on shot from a car in front rather than a camera rig stuck to the Aston, I can't see your friend allowing you to apply suction cups to his new P&J.

Good results with the 30D.

I had a rig attached to mine - worrying at first but no harm done. It was a pro using top quality gear though.

We did a session with my V12 recently but post-processing has been interrupted by fatherhood.

My God they are achingly good, love the car too. You are a brave man, to say nothing of the photographer.

Although a bonny car I think there are far too many reflections going on.

Perhaps in need of a polarising filter?

The background is a bit distracting in the first few but the later ones are excellent.
