Speedo Sensor II - The Fixing.

Big thanks to Jed for his help in locating a speedo sensor for less than half the price of he 'regular' supplier of all things S.
One small issue is the loom plug is different. Clearly it'll be cut the old one off and splice into the new, trouble is, the wire colours are different.
Anyone done this replacement? and know which goes to what?

I would go on the position of the wires coming out of the actual sensor - there can't be much room inside so I reckon they will be the same.

You could also see if there are any clues in terms of resistance readings between the wires on both sensors - though this may not help assuming your old one has had it.

Good point with the wire positions. Can't do a comparitive as mine is banjaxed. Trouble is if I put +12v on the pulse output it'll blow for sure.

I have a V6 one here, I'll measure the resistance between terminals and report back.....

Worry ye not Norm, I'm only measuring resistance with a multimeter, no volts were harmed during this process!

Resistance between terminals is polarity conscious -
+ on black, - on brown I get 17.83k
+ on yellow, - on brown I get 130.9k

Both measurements are open circuit with the wires the other way round.
