Well changing a lens yesterday and somehing slipped and off rolled the big lens (24-70 f2.8 Sigma). Managed to catch it on the way down resulting in a small injury (finger still in a splint this morning) but the only real damage was a completely smashed uv filter which i use as an optical lens cap.

I cannot describe how pleased i am to have that filter on the front. Only problem is getting the dented filter ring off the front now. So for all the amatuer camera handlers (like me) who dont have a filter on the front, I can assure you it's well worth it.

Right, off to find more painkilers for my finger.

I bought a new lens for a trip. The lens was on my camera, in my camera bag, as hand luggage.

I got to the hotel and opened my bag to find broken glass everywhere! The UV filter had broken somehow, but protected the lens! Phew!
