Oh yes; saw two cars today that made me drool - a 4 door saloon Audi Quattro and a pre-facelift 325i Sport. Both cars in my book that look a bit tasty. Then I started to think that a lot of 1980's cars have a strange coolness about them.

I am going mad?

Brilliantly cool at the moment. 80s cars are the new 70s cars.

Still, I'm bound to say that.

Eh? Nearly all old(er) cars are cooler than new ones! (IMO)

I think it's the novelty of seeing one again against a backdrop of everyday (and often huge) mundane modern fayre.

Edited for dodgy spelling.

I've always been of the opinion that the 80's was the worst ever decade for car design.

There was virtually NOTHING that came out of the 80's

Look at the Testerossa, The XJS, The big ugly Astons, Countach.

Gooduns ...The Audi Quattro. The 288 GTO. That's it.

My Fave Aston is the Vantage X Pack of the late 80's but that was born in the 70s

XJS was born in 1975 or '76, I think the Countach was also born in the 70's.

I'm more impressed by much more modest stuff than that anyway. Ferraris and the like from any era do nothing for me...
