Looking to buy a ladder for general purpose maintenance etc etc.

I need to put up a bell box security light paint windows you know the score.

I need to buy from machine mart as I have a voucher

options are

3.08 to 5.11m for £88

or

3.66 to 6.27m for £105

do I need the extra length (all jokes welcome) or will 5 meters be enough.

Cheers
ps I know nothing about ladders

I'd go for the extra length wink no really. 'Tis best to have a little extra in reserve and not have to over-stretch. Also, with a couple of rungs in reserve, the ladder will feel more stable.

If it`s too short at one end, you will regret it.

That just means you have erected it upside down. You want the tall end at the top, and the shorter end at the bottom. HTH.

Have you thought about a little giant ladder.I bought mine when I was a sky installer and ended up using it as my main ladder leaving the set of triples at home, gets past my gutters yet collapses to fit in the back of my car. Around £160 I think.
