What is the most painful injury you have ever had?

I have just burnt the end of my finger on the iron, and its bloody murderous.

Its not done much, but god it hurts.

So, whats the worst pain you have ever experienced? Photos (if they are allowed?) and a description of what you did, or indeed saw, or how you coped with it.

Im off to casualty to get it looked at

Broke my jaw as a kid when I fell of my bike, hurt like hell. Either that or when I had shingles in my teens, hurt like hell also!

I rammed by bks into the petrol tank of an FJ1200 at 40 mph.

That REALLY hurt, but not as much as the fk-off great needle that the casuality doctor tried to use to sew them back in.

More minor cuts injuries tend to hurt most.

Broken ribs tend to smart a little, but for shear pain, having stitches removed after the skin has grown back over takes some beating. The silly bugger who did the operation used a continuos nylon thread, and didnt realise that i heal quite quickly, so when they did take out the stiches, this 13 year old was heard on the ward i was in, and the one above and below heard me too.

Not an injury, but misdiagnosed gallstones for four years. By the time I collapsed with the pain and was rushed to hospital they were walnut sized. It hurt. A lot.

It doesn't matter what we post, emsman will win!smile

For me, tooth abcess isn't good but I have to say the nurse digging the splinter out of my infected finger ranks fairly high up there.

Got blood poisoning from this and she said she gave me a local for the pain. Ha! Could have fooled me, her rooting round with a scalpal like a kid getting the last piece of yoghurt out the pot was not any fun at all.
Got anti-bios the size of horse pills and when they took the bandage off three days later the finger was purple.
Local my arse..

Acute pancreatitis was pretty uncomfortable.

Other than that, unrequited love I think.

Poured an entire kettle of freshly boiled water over my chest and arm when I was 3.

Smarted a little bit.

I suffer from Hypermobility (only found out recently) and my knee joint sort of dislocates but doesn't, it kind of shifts in the joint causing the top of the leg and the bottom to be incorrectly joined at the knee, and that hurt like hell (subluxation is the term I think?).

Bearing in mind I played rugby on a broken leg for 70 minutes without realising it a few years back (which actully caused this condition to come on) I consider my pain threshold quite high, the knee pain left me on the verge of passing out laugh

I'm only 25 but so far (and i hope it wont be topped) a dislocated, and mentally at that, kneecap did hurt a bit. I know its a bit sissy but its emotional pain that gets me more, i do dwell on things and let them eat away at me.
