"The Experimental Food Society was founded by Alexa Perrin in January 2010 to front the UK’s most talented culinary creatives, showcasing a troupe of ground-breaking gourmet artists that demonstrate there is more to life than just swallowing.
Our directory can be viewed on the Members page and includes jelly mongers, cake sculptors, sugarcraft artists, mobile chocolate adventurers and one-of-a-kind dining conceptualists to name a few. Each unique in their field members are joined by their love of food and their desire to push it to new levels, often fusing it with other forms such as science and art.
The Experimental Food Society will host both an annual Spectacular and a series of talks throughout the year. Leave behind your preconceptions of food and allow the Experimental Food Society members to delight your senses and inspire you with their extraordinary talents, showing you the culinary industry as you have never seen it before."
Their first "spectacular" is this Saturday (25th) in Brick Lane and it's only a fiver to get in.
Looks quite interesting so I've just booked a couple of tickets - anyone else thinking of going?

Rambling Restaurant
Rambling Restaurant is a collective that creates extraordinary menus in unique spaces. They started in (and still often hold their meals) in a Camden living room but their rambling has seen them barbequing bread for 200 in a Norwich field, turning a Waterloo squat into a fine dining room and dishing out wild rabbit stew in an old tram depot in Clapton.
Rambling was started by Abi Rambler an excitable cook and freelance writer, editor and food blogger. She is joined by Michelle Madsen, Mei Li and Sarah Stolarz.
Their projects include;
A picnic at the Feast of Strangers, held in the magical tree-house gallery in Regents Park, where philosopher Theodore Zeldin led a menu of conversation.
The Mad-Hatter's tea-party and the unexpected Illumination of the Rambling Banqueteers at the Oubliette's Fifth Plinth on Oxford Street, which involved serving jelly to revellers and tea to tourists by straws through a letter box.
Rambling Tongue at Vulpes Vulpes and the Oubliette, where Rambling Restaurant came together with poetry slammers Hammer and Tongue for nights of feasting, meringue swans, dancing and some of the best spoken word in the UK.

Wouldn't go out of my way to attend but I only live a short distance away and was planning to hit Borough Market on Sat anyway to stock up on some goodies.
Thought that for a fiver I would wander across the river and stick my head round the door to see what's going on - especially if there might be a chance of free samples on the cards
Will take a camera with me & stick the photos up here if I'm allowed to take any.
