Braille Map

What are these braille maps good for???
Competitor for electronic navigation devices (driver keeps his eyes on the road, feeling the right way with his left hand)?
Integrating blind people in social life as valuable co-drivers?
Literature for blind people to realize how big the Empire is?

I think half the drivers on the road would have a good use for a braille map. They don't use their mirrors, and do not seem to be able to see the lane markings.
