Tarnished chrome sink - help!

The missus managed to spray limescale remover on our chrome bathroom sinks and leave it for too long. They have become badly tarnished. Any way I can rescue them, or do I need to get them re-chromed? If the latter any idea where?

Dunno - have you tried metal polish?

There was a similar thread at the start of this month

The cleaner has probably eaten through the chrome 'skin' and into the softer layers underneath which help it adhere to the (steel?) base.
