Is there such a thing as "too many bananas per day" ?
Discussion
I used to consume an entire packet of Jaffa Cakes each afternoon whilst at work, until one day a colleague suggested that Bananas would be a healthier alternative.
That was a couple of weeks ago and since then my banana consumption has increased to about 5 per day!
So, are bananas addictive and is it possible to eat too many?

Yes they are high in potassium which can throw your salt levels out of line as the two work together.
If the sodium gets to low and the potassium too high, it throws off the electrolyte system, and can cause problems from mild gastrointestinal problems to kidney problems, to severe cardiac problems.
I think only one a day is needed to provide you with all the essential amino acids your body can't produce a day.

Not everybody is the same, but for me white carbs, ie sugar and refined flours mean I gain weight, for me the best diet has been to reduce carbs, and on a relatively low carb diet - but actually high in fat, I don't worry about butter or cream in / with food for example, and find meat fills me up, so I'm less hungry as a result. I can maintain my weight as comfortable in my trousers 32-34" without any exercise. Not that I recommend the latter bit... but in the past eating lots of bread n potatoes and avoiding cream and cheese I *had* to exercise to keep my trousers from getting snug.
