Yep, watched a documentary about it a few years ago. They allegedly gassed some of the inhabitants pets using exhaust fumes from their 4x4s, to coerce them to leave. Nothing really changes, does it?

I suspect they would be okay with the amount of US military there!

Never got out there myself, but used to send people there to baby-sit submarines. - sod of a place to arrange travel too!
